My name is Kelly Thoreson and I am currently working as a public librarian in Ontario, Canada.

I am passionate about making the library a safer and more welcoming space for marginalized groups and try to focus my work on ensuring voices of  individuals from these populations are well-represented in the library’s collections and services. My background in library user experience, student services, anthropology, and dialogue all contribute to my interest in transforming library spaces, policies, procedures, services, and collections to meet the needs of marginalized populations, including those from indigenous, LGBTQ+, disability, and POC populations.

My interests outside of libraries include: the outdoors; comics and illustrations; movie theatres; local food & agriculture.

If you would like to learn more about my background, please check out my CV and feel free to get in touch with me on Twitter (@klthoreson) or LinkedIn.
